While sitting here, with a belly full of spaghetti, I am quite content spending a Friday night just hanging out, and having 'me' time. Chels is coming over in a bit, but just for a quick visit as she has a movie date. I've been working on my collection of favorite quotes and such, and it's quite fun to have a book full of all the things that once have touched me, inspired me, and bring back some memories of when those quotes meant most.
I was up and at 'em early this morning. I was awoken by loud knocking from the man that was finally coming to fix our oven. After I let him in, I made a bowl of oatmeal, finished HSM3 up, and then got ready for the gym. I rode my bike there, and had an amazing work out, and then back home it was for me.
Carli came over around noon so we spent some time catching up (from Wednesday haha) and drank green tea. Then, my realtor came to get us, and we went to visit 4 condos. We revisited one of the places we looked at last time, and then 3 new places. I am practically in love with one of them on MacKenzie street (tres close to the uni and gym, and just a bit up from Daley's); even though it smelled like marijuana...I could see a ton of potential for this place. I am sending the pictures off to my parents soon, and fingers crossed for an offer.
Afterwards, Carli came back for a bit more and gave me lessons on zip files. Then, I was ravished, so I made my spaghetti, and watched old episodes of the Hills.
More journaling now..

They say love is friendship set on fire;
and if you're lucky enough to find someone to give yourself to:
mind, body, and soul,
you should hold on,
and hope like hell you don't get burned.
weeks go by.
Yet another Thursday...already! Time is flying, and I believe that we only have about 4 more weeks left this semester. I am really excited to finish everything up. I have been working on my polisci paper, and I am nearly done. Next...is my big geog term project. I have an idea for what direction I may be going, but it's due on the 19th...and besides thoughts, I haven't started it. Other than those 2 projects, I have one last final individual project to do for IS372; it's basically whatever-you-want type thing...like a song, a poem, a painting, etc. And then it just needs to have some sort of meaning to you, linking with Indigenous peoples. I have noo idea what I'll do for that.
My Dad is coming to see me soon. I am really excited to see him! And, I love going to Nanaimo! I can't believe it's been nearly a year, since last Easter when we were there. I've since been there in the summer, but EASTER...this year has flown!
Today I have school for 6 hours. Dale is out of town, so I won't have a geog buddy tonight :( But, I'm the only one who ever takes notes...so it's no biggie.
I am saving up for dresses and skirts and shoes. When I get a job, that's exactly where my money is going.

twenty-one is cool.
Happy March 1st! I can't believe that February has come and gone already. It is always the quickest month, not just because of the shortage of days, but the crazy busy schedule!
I have had a good weekend. I spent it with friends, and just working on my polisci paper.
On Friday, I caught up with Chels, and we went for dinner at Milestones. We had the most delicious dish with a red curry sauce. yum. Afterwards we bussed it back to my place to get her car, and then went to rent a movie for us and the boys. We rented Blindness, and while I thought it was going to be really awesome, it was sort of disturbing with random rape scenes and violence in it.
Yesterday, Saturday, I spent the day working on my paper, and cleaning the condo up. The only thing I didn't get done was my room. It's still a bit of a disaster from last week. Then, I went to do a few errands, and got ready for people to come over. I had some close friends over for late birthday celebrations. Chels and I made raspberry mojitos, and we ate cheesecake. Yum! We had an eventful time going to the bar, but once there, slammed back a few drinks and we were good to go. It was lots of fun. We met Lex and Elli there too. Then, we had some trouble getting home too; it's so busy for getting taxis after the bar closes. But we made it home just before 4...so I had a pretty short sleep.
Today, I have just been making lots of phone calls, working on my paper, and I slept for 2 and a half hours. I am tres tired. I am looking forward to school this week, for some reason...
About two and a half weeks til I get to see my Dad, and we are going to Nanaimo, so I'll get to visit Lauren as well!

get tangled up in me.
So, for my reading break...I did absolutely NO reading. I spent 8 wonderful days in Hawaii with my boyfriend.
We flew out on the morning of the 13th, make that the afternoon. A mixture of Dale's bad luck with Air Canada, and Friday the 13th, our first flight to van was delayed so much that we were unsure if we were going to make it for our Maui flight. We ended up getting an earlier flight, but our bags were still on the later flight. So we went through customs and all that stuff, and had to wait to get our bags to transfer them over to the U.S. side. We were really crunching out time. By the time we got our bags, and headed to our gate, we walked right onto the plane. The flight was good, I watched Nights in Rodanthe, and read my book. We arrived in Maui around 930, but ended up waiting for quite some time for the shuttle. I slept on and off to the hotel, and we got to the hotel around 11:00. I was sick, and dead tired, so I passed out pretty quick.
The next day was Valentine's day. We spent some time on the beach, and then went to Whaler's Village to shop. But, I started to feel queasy, so we went back to the hotel...The flu hit be at 5:30, and I stayed in bed for the rest of the evening. Dale had Valentine's dinner alone; he ordered a gourmet meal from Room Service. I can't even really remember the 15th, besides going to Bubba Gumps for dinner. That was pretty fun! We toured our Lahaina after dinns, and checked out some of the shops.
My birthday was a great day. I was feeling a bit better, so we went down for a late breaky, and then to the ocean. It wasn't all that sunny out though, so we headed back to the hotel to laze around and then get ready. We went into Lahaina to shop more, and check out the Banyan Tree. It was really cool! The afternoon turned out to be beautiful, with the sun shining and heat. We got to watch out first sunset from Front Street, cause we missed the first two sunsets. It was magnificent. Afterwards, we headed to dinner at Ruth's Chris steakhouse. I was really craving a specific meal after not eating for 3 days. I ordered steak, mashed potatoes, and caesar salad. It was the best. We drank mai tai's and red wine. I was SO stuffed halfway through my meal, that I made Dale polish it off for me. However, Dale insisted that we had to have dessert on my birthday, so we went to Cold Stone for ice cream. yum!
The 17th...what stands out...is the Luau that we went to! It was awesome. There was tons of performances, dancing, singing, and fire throwing going on. The food was amazing, and we were lucky to sit by a sweet family.
The next day that stands out for me was the 18th I think. Dale and I went on an atv adventure up the mountains, and we had some amazing views from the top. We were told that we would get really dirty, so we had to wear this gross clothing...but we didn't even end up getting dirty! I was disappointed! haha.
On the 20th, Dale and I went on a submarine. It was incredible. The water was the most amazing color that you can imagine. We went down 130 feet, and got to see some cool fish. They had sunk a ship about a year ago to make a man-made reef.
Our last day was perfect. We got up early to hit the gym, then went for breakfast at Tropica at our hotel. It didn't look like that great of a day, so we went to Whaler's village to get some bracelets, and look around for the last time. Then, we did end up going out to the beach...it was perfect! We spent about 3 hours out there, swimming, tanning, and reading. We were body surfing, and I got thrown around quite a bit! I was tumbling under the water, getting sand in my bathing suit and salt in my mouth. I flashed a few people too. I got a few wounds from being washed up onto shore. But, it was super fun. We then headed to Ono's for one last meal, and watched a bit of the hockey game. Then, we headed to the hot tub, and to watch out last sunset. We had to go shower in the hospitality room after, and then went back to watch more of the game and have one last tropical drink.
The traveling home was pretty quick, but tiring and depressing. The highlight though, is that we got first class on the way home! So dale and I set up our beds, and slept most of the way.
What an amazing trip. We had a lovely time.
I miss it!
