sunshine, come back.

For the first two weeks I was here, Victoria had perfect weather, and now it's all gone! It's cold, and cloudy and maybe a bit rainy now. I hope the sun comes back for a bit more summertime. This week flew by as usual. I did not have as much work but I still had one paper due, and a test yesterday. The test was pretty easy, but essay styled and open ended. So I ended up with a cramped hand.

After class, I walked over to Dale's. I napped for a bit, and then we went to get his hair cut. I sat in Blenz and sipped my green tea latte, and talked to Tash while I waited. Afterwards, we went back to Dale's to hang out for a bit...and then went shopping for dinner supplies. We made tacos last night. yumms. And then we went to see the new movie Lakeview Terrace. We went to the SilverCity theatres, and they are so much better than some of the places in town! The movie was pretty good, but not as scary as I thought it was going to be.

Today I have just been doing some reading for Psych. And later heading out with Dale to go to the gym and do a few other things.

ugh, I am tired today.
If only the sun were out.

When you are near me,
when you are here,
I see,
all that I am made of
and all I can be...
when you are near.

taking it back.

Is cool... learnable? Portable? Can you memorize every syllable? Is it actually genetic? Is it actually so contagious just smelling someone else's infinite cool that gives you the cool disease, the fever, the bug? Is there a degree in cool, a pHd, an infusion? Can you get a cool transplant, some sort of organ donation right next to all your other organs? Can you wear it like a patch, a tattoo, slather it on like cologne? Is it available at an all-you-can-eat buffet? Or... is it something else? Like inspiration? Like a sense of self? When was the birth of cool? Today? Yesterday? Right about now...?

two week mark

It's been two weeks since I arrived back in Victoria. This past week at school has been busy! I had three papers due. Yikes!! But, I successfully wrote them all... and got one of them back in which I got a 4.5/5 on it! So I was pretty stoked.

Other than that, I have been trying to get back into running. Since it's still like summer here, I enjoy running in the morning. I'm really hoping to keep it up. I also walk to school three days a week... and it's straight up hill.. so I suppose that is good. I walk to and from Dale and my place a lot...so all in all .. I'm really getting my walking in. Dale and I joined the ISC but we've only been a few times! It's good though because there are tons of weights and machines to use and try out. It's always busy, so I told Dale I like it most so I can people watch. And it's amazing all these different work out routines that people think of. haha. I guess I am not used to the busy-ness of a gym... because when I would go to World's... it was almost always dead.

I miss my home, my besties, and my family a lot. But, I'll be home for Thanksgiving: only for two full days... but at least it's something!

I'll write more soon.

love affair.

My boy and I just celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday! We decided to go up Mt. Tolmie (we were going to walk, but decided to drive instead) and bring some food for a picnic. We went up when the light was perfect, and had a fun time just sitting on the rocks eating cheese and sitting wine (from starbuck's cups).

Two years and counting (L)

reunited and it feeeeels so good! (L)

things start.

I've now been back in Victoria for over a week. Things are going well, but busy! School started last Wednesday... and already things are piling up. I have one class where there is a paper due every class! I switched math classes into another section.. so I'm enjoying my new prof! And it's in the brand new ocean and sciences building... and there's some cool things going on there! I also love my History of WWII class. It's awesome! The only class I am not really enjoying is my Sociology class. I didn't like Soci when I took it at COTR, and I don't like it here. haha. Hopefully things will pick up and get interesting soon!

This weekened...on Friday Dale and I went out to Earls (mmhmm!) and then back to his place to hang out. Saturday, I spent the day doing a lot of reading for Soci.. and then went downtown for a bit with Dale. On Saturday night... Alex and I did some serious drinking at her house (with jell-o shooters!), and then walked downtown to the Social Club. It was pretty fun! It's so expensive to go out though... so I might need to take a break until I get some more money! Then after we met up with Dale at the Sticky Wicket and walked home to Alex's. Dale and I caught a taxi back to my place... which seemed to be sleepover central that night! On Sunday, we slept in late... I walked Dale home... then didn't do too much. I cleaned my bathroom, got groceries, and started to work on my first psych paper. I went to Dale's for dinns, and we watched Rocky (the third one!). I think I went to sleep at like 1030! I was so tired.

I am already done school for the day. On Mondays and Thursdays I have school from 830-1. It usually goes by fast because all my classes are right after another. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I just have one class from 1230-130. Its a pretty decent schedule!

Anyways, for the rest of the day I'm just working on my paper.. and then Dale and I are going to the gym!

island love

Happy September 1st! I am back in Victoria, and all settled into my new place with Lex. I love our condo! It already feels like home, and I've only been here a few days. I also love having Dale here. It's a big comfort having him around.. and I'm also thankful that we don't have to do long distance this year! phew.

I've just spent the last few days figuring out new surroundings, errands, working out a bit, and things up at the campus. School starts on Wednesday! I am excited. I love when school starts.. but I also hate when things just start to pile up, and seem never-ending. So it's sort of bittersweet.

This year is off to good start... so I am really excited!
More (exciting, I hope) stories to come!
