get tangled up in me.

So, for my reading break...I did absolutely NO reading. I spent 8 wonderful days in Hawaii with my boyfriend.

We flew out on the morning of the 13th, make that the afternoon. A mixture of Dale's bad luck with Air Canada, and Friday the 13th, our first flight to van was delayed so much that we were unsure if we were going to make it for our Maui flight. We ended up getting an earlier flight, but our bags were still on the later flight. So we went through customs and all that stuff, and had to wait to get our bags to transfer them over to the U.S. side. We were really crunching out time. By the time we got our bags, and headed to our gate, we walked right onto the plane. The flight was good, I watched Nights in Rodanthe, and read my book. We arrived in Maui around 930, but ended up waiting for quite some time for the shuttle. I slept on and off to the hotel, and we got to the hotel around 11:00. I was sick, and dead tired, so I passed out pretty quick.

The next day was Valentine's day. We spent some time on the beach, and then went to Whaler's Village to shop. But, I started to feel queasy, so we went back to the hotel...The flu hit be at 5:30, and I stayed in bed for the rest of the evening. Dale had Valentine's dinner alone; he ordered a gourmet meal from Room Service. I can't even really remember the 15th, besides going to Bubba Gumps for dinner. That was pretty fun! We toured our Lahaina after dinns, and checked out some of the shops.

My birthday was a great day. I was feeling a bit better, so we went down for a late breaky, and then to the ocean. It wasn't all that sunny out though, so we headed back to the hotel to laze around and then get ready. We went into Lahaina to shop more, and check out the Banyan Tree. It was really cool! The afternoon turned out to be beautiful, with the sun shining and heat. We got to watch out first sunset from Front Street, cause we missed the first two sunsets. It was magnificent. Afterwards, we headed to dinner at Ruth's Chris steakhouse. I was really craving a specific meal after not eating for 3 days. I ordered steak, mashed potatoes, and caesar salad. It was the best. We drank mai tai's and red wine. I was SO stuffed halfway through my meal, that I made Dale polish it off for me. However, Dale insisted that we had to have dessert on my birthday, so we went to Cold Stone for ice cream. yum!

The 17th...what stands out...is the Luau that we went to! It was awesome. There was tons of performances, dancing, singing, and fire throwing going on. The food was amazing, and we were lucky to sit by a sweet family.

The next day that stands out for me was the 18th I think. Dale and I went on an atv adventure up the mountains, and we had some amazing views from the top. We were told that we would get really dirty, so we had to wear this gross clothing...but we didn't even end up getting dirty! I was disappointed! haha.

On the 20th, Dale and I went on a submarine. It was incredible. The water was the most amazing color that you can imagine. We went down 130 feet, and got to see some cool fish. They had sunk a ship about a year ago to make a man-made reef.

Our last day was perfect. We got up early to hit the gym, then went for breakfast at Tropica at our hotel. It didn't look like that great of a day, so we went to Whaler's village to get some bracelets, and look around for the last time. Then, we did end up going out to the beach...it was perfect! We spent about 3 hours out there, swimming, tanning, and reading. We were body surfing, and I got thrown around quite a bit! I was tumbling under the water, getting sand in my bathing suit and salt in my mouth. I flashed a few people too. I got a few wounds from being washed up onto shore. But, it was super fun. We then headed to Ono's for one last meal, and watched a bit of the hockey game. Then, we headed to the hot tub, and to watch out last sunset. We had to go shower in the hospitality room after, and then went back to watch more of the game and have one last tropical drink.

The traveling home was pretty quick, but tiring and depressing. The highlight though, is that we got first class on the way home! So dale and I set up our beds, and slept most of the way.

What an amazing trip. We had a lovely time.
I miss it!

study sesh.

This week is midterm week. I have two exams on Thursday: one in geog, and the other in polisci. Both are long answer questions which involves a lot of thinking about things that I am still not completely knowledgeable on. We got study guides for each class, but the polisci one is way more in depth on exactly what we need to know so that there are no surprises.

There is an active case of Tuberculosis on campus... greeeeeat. I've been reading up on common symptoms and I'm just hoping that no one has sneezed on me in the last week. Ew. Other than that, my mother told me to wash my hands and not to share pens or books. Whoops...I loaned out a notebook to someone last week, and just got it back yesterday. Hopefully it is not infected. Other than that...I haven't done much sharing.

Dale and I are heading to Hawaii on Friday. We have a lot of traveling! Well, our flight to Vancouver is at 12:30 p.m. ... then we have about a 5 hour layover...and fly out of Van at 5:15. We will arrive in Hawaii aroundddd 9:00 Maui time. The actual place that we will be staying at is in Kaanapali, on the island of Maui, the state of Hawaii. Got it?

Today: I am heading to the gym in about 45 minutes, have plans to study some geography after that, and then I am meeting some people up at the library to study for polisci. I also need to do some errands sometime in the next two days. This week is too busy and jam packed. Studying is lame, but effective.

Valentine's day is soon approaching. It is one of my all time favorite days. <3

leading lady.

I've had such a great weekend in Cranbrook! On Friday my mom and I went to Boot Camp class at World's...it was fun! It reminded me of Boxercise. After that, I headed off to get my hairs snipped, and a few layers put in. My mom and I went for a quick lunch at Hot Shots after.  Then it was pedicure time, and that I thoroughly enjoyed as I got my nails painted a cooooool colour blue. That night we had pad thai for dinner (yummmy!). Tash and I made Sangria after and visited a bit with Jess and Steph. Then, Tash and I went out dancing at Mistys, and I came home after for a chat with my boy.

Saturday I had an eye appointment, and then some other errands to do. My mom left for dinner with her friends, and then we started to set up for the party and surprise! Guests arrived by 730, and then my mom came back around 8. She was really surprised! The party was a success, and a ton of people showed up.

Today, I had a little visit over tea with Tash. Now, I am just watching some movies on t.v., and then hopefully will get myself into study mode and finish off some readings I have for geog. My flight is at 8:30 tonight, and then I'll be back in Victoria around 10:30. One more week of school (and midterms), and then off to Hawaii Dale and I go! Eeps. I cannot WAIT!

hip hip hurray!

I arrived home last night, and it is soo good to be here! It was actually pretty warm when I landed, but I woke up to snowflakes falling. Today is one week until Hawaii! I am getting sooo excited, and I can't seem to concentrate on midterms which are taking place next week!

Today my mom and I are hitting up the gym for Boot Camp, and then I'm going to get my hairs snipped, and then pedicures for my mom and I! Tash and I are hanging out tonight and celebrating birthdays. I can't waiit!

My sleeps have been really terrible lately. I usually fall asleep right away, and sleep for a few hours...but then I am awake and rolling around for a couple hours each night. The other night I had a neck spasm, and every sleep usually includes the strangest dreams. Ugh...

a little excitement.

More like a lot of excitement! I am so excited to go home on Thursday! I'm headed home straight after classes... so I will have to miss Geography that night (I have lectured Dale to take incredible notes, and pay attention). I have plans for a haircut and pedi (with my mom) on Friday afternoon. Friday night I am getting together with Tash to celebrate birthdays and have some bestie time...I can't wait! Saturday I have an eye appointment, and other than that, my weekend is open! Who wants to hang out? haha.

Right now I am watching 90210 and then Privileged. Nights in filled with t.v. are the best. Last night I was over at Dale's and I was supposed to help him study, but I ended up making him watch the Bachelor and the City. It was greeeeat haha.

Tomorrow I have to pick up my mom's birthday pressie, and I have to attend a guest speaker at the David Lamb Auditorium (for EDCI-372), and then step class tomorrow night!

visits.

Lauren came to visit me this week! It was really good to see her. We spent most of our time lounging, which was just perfect. I like low-key weekends, especially when I have been so tired lately. I honestly do not know what is going on with my body...I am tired all the time! Anyways, we also went out to Earls for dinner on Friday..yummers.

Last night, Dale and I were supposed to meet Chels and Jord at the Shark Club to watch the UFC fights. We got there a bit late, and ended up waiting outside for over half an hour. Chels and Jord made it in..but we gave up because it was cold waiting in line. We went out for an appy and drink, and then went to see the movie "Taken". It was really goood!

Today I spent some time downtown with Lex and some of her family. Tonight, I will finally need to catch up on some of my reading. I think I have to go to school early tomorrow to find some on reserve readings as well. bleh.

However, I am going home very very soon, and off to Hawaii shortly afterwards! eeps. I am exciiited.
