no sleep tonight.

I can't sleep. I can't stop thinking about all the money that I owe. I went for my job interview today, and it went really well. However, because I need to take a few weeks off in February, they don't think I should start until March. Which is quite some time away from now! So, I guess I need to keep searching.

Tomorrow's thoughts: I have some major reading to do. It's taking me a long time to catch up! Also, Chels and I may go downtown to the harbor if it's sunny out. I think that is about it. I keep re-arranging my room. I think I have set it up now to where I have maximum space. However, when my Dad and brother come down on Thursday night, I think that I want to maybe move my bed? It's still undecided.

Other thoughts: I can't wait until January is over. I'm sick of this month already. Except for the fact that Lauren is going to be paying me a visit... so I'm pretty excited about that!! Oh, and I can't wait to get home again. I feel like I'm looking into the future some much, that time is just passing without me really noticing the today's. But, February is always a good month. I love Valentine's Day. Dale and I haven't spent a V-day together in 3 years! So, I'm pretty excited to celebrate that, and my birthday in Hawaii. Bring on the vacation. Bring on the heat and sunshine!

cheers. xx

repeat.

This is starting to get old. My bad luck just keeps coming. Last night, I was having a great time, and all ready to dance it up at plan b. I hadn't even danced to one song yet, but I noticed that my camera was missing. I noticed within minutes, so Chels and I went to look for it, and of course... it's gone. Of course. Of course someone probably found it and stole it. I don't know how it got away from me, because one minute its in my back pocket, and the next... it's not. I was so upset. I have no money to buy a new camera. With my computer and Hawaii to pay off, I am dead broke. Even if I get a job..it's going to take months and months to save up enough to pay for mistakes, when I could be buying new things, and not just replacing old things. UGH.

Today I have my interview at Rogers. I hope I get the job...so I can start making money! The sunshine is actually shining today, and maybe that is a sign of good things to come.

Fingers crossed.

lovely to see you.

Today was a busy bee day. I had some weird dreams last night and woke up in a sweat, with tears in my eyes, and huffing for air. Besides the dreams, my boy woke me up a bit earlier than I like so he could take me home before he had to take his car into the dealership. I came home, ate waffles, and watched the real world. It's pretty good so far. Mind you, it's going to get catty and dramatic soon, but... bring it on!

I had class from 11:30-2:30. In PoliSci we got a library research assignment. It's something that a lot of profs give out to their first year classes (yes, it's poli 101) to force their students into actually entering the library. Since I am a third year student, I have done library assignments a couple times already. However, this one was quite tedious and ended up taking me an hour and a half to look up things, only to receive a P/F grade. Anyways, so I accomplished that, and then finally headed home at 4.

I came home, and filled my belly with some salad, talked to a few special ones on the phone, and then drifted off into a nice nap. I woke up just before my next class, got ready, and back to school I went. Dale and I had geo from 6:30 til 9:30. It was sort of interesting tonight, and we learned about different winds and climates. Our prof told us about our term project, and it sounds like we get to be pretty creative, so I'm excited for that!

This weekend I have a ton of reading to catch up on! gah. Tomorrow I hope to gym it and watch my boy play some hockey at the ISC. Saturday is interview day. Oh! And, today I handed in my application for the Ed program!

week two.

This week is going well, and going by quickly. I can't believe it's Thursday already! I handed out resumes yesterday to four different places. I have an interview with Roger's video on Saturday evening. I am nervous about it, but sort of excited. At this point, I just need a job, so it really doesn't matter where! Lots of people are saying its a bad choice, or that it'll be boring. But, I used to think working at DQ was boring sometimes. So, I guess it all just depends.

I went out for drinks with Chels and Nan last night. We went to the Mint. It was really good! Then, I slept over at Dale's. Now I'm just waiting for him to come back to my house (after he drops his car off at BMW), and then we have school at 11:30. I have 6 hours of classes today. bleh.

Jan 11, 2009

you're my favorite moment, you're my saturday.

Weekends. Are. So. Good.
Even though I only go to school twice a week, it's still nice to have 3 consecutive days off. Chels and I spent the afternoon together on Friday. We had tea at my house, and then walked to her house and visited more there. Afterwards she drove me home, and Dale and I went to dinner at Earls. It was pretty good, but I got a major stomach cramp and felt yucky. Luckily, it went away because I got dropped off at Chels' and we headed to go see Bride Wars. It was so so so good! I just loved it.

On Saturday, I woke up and went over to Dale's. We planned out our Hawaii trip. We booked flights for February 13th-21st!! But, we are still deciding on the hotel, so we will have to book that separately. Yesterday night, Carli came over to my place and we chatted and caught up. We drank some wine. I have missed having one-on-one time with her, so it was really nice!!

Today, Dale and I went to the gym. Then later this afternoon we headed downtown because Dale wanted to check out some workout gear. He ended up getting a few things. Tonight we are headed to the mooovies...haha third movie this week! But I can't help it! There are so many movies that are out that I want to see!!

Tomorrow is back to school. This week I have to hand out my resume that I've been working on for the past week. My brother and dad will be here in a week and a half!

time goes by.

Week one of semester two complete. It has been a busy one: I was adding classes, and dropping classes like no other. I am trying to avoid presentations and tutorials as much as possible (even though I'm going to have to face them one day). So, my classes for this term are: Geography 306, PoliSci 101, and Indigenous Epistemologies. So far I really like geography, and the aboriginal studies. The polisci is a bit boring and has weekly tutorials. Aboriginal studies has two class presentations, so hopefully that will go okay.

It's already the weekend for me! Dale and I are off to the gym soon, and then I'm meeting up with Chels later for a visit. I have readings to catch up on, and resumes to pass out. Gah.

january introductions.

Back to school. Back to school. Today was the first day of semester two. I had two classes. The first one was PoliSci 101. Bleh. It seems like it might be interesting, buuuut surprise surprise, there are weekly tutorials. That pretty much ruined my day right there. I am not into tutorials. But, I guess I'll have to learn my politics and speak up! It is a first year class, so I feel pretty old being a third year student. Anyways, the prof seems pretty awesome (despite the tutorials). My next class was Indigenous Epistemologies. I love this class already. It's a pass/fail class, so there are no grades...just complete/incomplete. The prof had us sit in a circle, and we had to do introductions of where our first names originated from. We will always set up in a circle, and there is no pressure to speak. The only exception is a group presentation, but that should be okay.

Also, I got my computer back today! It's going to take me quite some time to pay it off. It came to about $540.00 ... sooo that was an expensive step I put on it. bleh.

Tonight...I'm going to see Chels' new place! I am sooo happy she is here. I can't waiiit for this year to get a roll on with things.

2009 is going to be a good one.

begin

I am flying back to Victoria tomorrow. I am going to be a bit sad to leave this snow-globe (even though I may return to snow as well). I have 3 of the best days since Dale has been back in town. We've been to movies, skating, and dinners with our families. The laughter has been the best part, not to forget Dale's tan! The new year is off to a great start.

One of the besties, Chels, has now arrived in Victoria, and starting to get unpacked and settled. I've had some other visits with near and dear ones, followed with some goodbyes. Good news is: I'll be back on February 5th! So just one month, and back to my little hometown!

This has been a great holiday! I feel like it's been just the right amount of time (minus these past 3 days just flying by) off, and I'm almost ready to begin my new semester!

safe travels to everyone returning home tomorrow.
