unconditionally and irrevocably in love.

but if i should break, if i should fall away, what am i to do?

diving too deep for coins.

I am back from Vancouver. Actually, I got back yesterday. It was another long day. We left for the ferry at 10 (got a ride, thanks to Keith!), caught the 11 ferry, bussed downtown, and then bussed home. I arrived home around 230.

I spent my afternoon yesterday .... calling Chapters (seems my only option is to apply online), taking pictures, getting groceries (and fetching Lexa's car), briefly looking over my geog notes, and relaxing. I was waiting for my boy to finish golf and tutor so we could go for drinks and dinns! I read a bit of this new book I'm reading, showered, and then walked to Dale's to wait for his arrival. We ended up at Earl's (again), cause he was craving spinach dip (I did not object!). We caught up since we hadn't seen each other since Tuesday, and had barely spoken when either of us were in Van (busy bees). Then we went back to his house to watch the two new episodes of The Office (that he taped) ... so good! But, I fell asleep somewhere in the middle of the second one. Today, I just arrived home, cooked up some eggs with peppers and asparagus mixed in, had a slice of toast and some blackberry yogurt. Yum! Now, I need to shower, study, and hit up the gym later after The Masters.

Oh! The rest of Van was good. I spent Friday with my Popo and Gung gung ... we went for dim sum and then I accompanied them to the cemetery to lay flowers for some of my great-great relatives. I learned some more about my history of my family coming to China, working, and racism. Then, I headed back and Carli and I went to Metrotown. I got a cute dress from Zara. That night, Alli and Keith cooked up a Easter feast for us! It was delish. We topped the night off watching Twilight (for the second time since I'd been in Van). We re-wound our fav scene to watch it over and over.

Ah! I need to get a move on it.

Apr 9, 2009

april, aglow.

I am in Vancouver for a few days. I needed to get off the island, and let my mind think of other things besides school, and getting a job. Today my mom found a posting for a job at Chapters (ommmmgmgggmgmgmg), so I have been trying to apply online, but no success yet. I have contacted the customer service about their site issues, so hopefully they will get back to me soon. Anyways, updates!

On Monday, Lauren arrived and we spent a lovely afternoon outdoors on the deck, soaking up the sun. For dinns we made a scrumptious pasta salad, and strawberry smoothies for dessert. We watched the hills season 5 premiere (soooo good!!), and then I studied for my interview and exam. Early to bed, because I was up early to prep for my polisci exam. The exam went alright, but I didn't get my top choices to write on ... so I felt I maybe didn't have enough to say? I went home to get ready for my interview and practice a couple times! I was super nervous, but it went really well. The interviewers were super friendly, and said that I presented myself well, was friendly (as well), and that I seemed very knowledgeable from all of my experience (which I thought I lacked). So YAY for getting those two things over with on Tuesday! I went back home to join Lauren for a snack at Starbucks, and then back to my deck for awhile. Jo-anne joined us, but then I had to leave to go do a photoshoot! Dale and I got out pics taken by Lex for a project she was doing: Engagement photos! It was a pretty fun afternoon. Back home again to meet up with Lauren and Jo-anne, and to get ready for dinns. Chels joined us, and we bussed downtown to Earl's. Dinner was delicious as usual. Lauren, Chels, and I then bussed back home. I was super tired and hit the hay, knowing I'd have to wake up super early again to pack and get ready for Van.

I was up at 7 a.m. to pack, and eat breaky. I bussed downtown at 9 with a cup of tea in hand. It started out to be a beautiful day. I stopped at the bank, and then walked to meet Carli. We bussed to the ferry, got onto the ferry, and some girl told us to tag our bags. So had some trouble with that...but got it worked out. Our ferry was running 15 minutes behind, so when we bussed to Ladner Exchange, we missed our transfer. So we had to wait an hour in the freezing wind for the next bus! bleh. So another bus to the skytrain, skytrained a couple stops, then another bus up the street awhile, and FINALLY a few blocks of walking to reach my gramma's house. For a grand total of 7 hours travel time! SHIT.

Anyways, last night we just had pizza and watched Twilight. Carli and I fell in love with Edward all over again, and the whole concept of passionate love.

Today ... still in my p.j.'s at 1:00 p.m. ... catching up on msgs and stuff, and I'll get ready soon! Carli and I may venture downtown to Robson this afternoon and buy ourselves a pressie :)

love love.

china green tea.

Today has been a success! I woke up early this morning, made some oatmeal and settled down to look over my polisci notes. I ended up just sitting around and studying (and watching the Hills) until 2. Dale and I hit up the gym for some much need cardio, and then we headed back to his place for a bit. I studied a bit more, and then walked home. Got home and cooked some dinns for Lex and I, called Carli, and then got ready for some more studying. I have been studying polisci and doing interview stuff for the past three hours. Now I am over at Dale's drinking a China Green tea (that Dale so kindly went and got me) and nibbling on chocolate covered licorice (so much for the no late night nibbles rule, but my boy brought them back to soothe my cramps!). He is going to quiz me on my polisci short answer stuff, and then maybe I'll call it a night.

Tomorrow: Up early to study, the gym, maybe helping Lex in the afternoon for a photoshoot, Lauren arrives, more studying and prepping, and the Hills season five premiere!

love always.

color it in.

I can't believe that it's already Saturday night/Sunday morning ... I only have two more days left to prep for the interview and study for my exam! Yesterday I got most of the short answer questions ready for polisci, so that felt productive. Late afternoon/evening, yesterday, Dale and I headed out to Langford again. He wanted to check out Golf Town where we scoped out the latest clubs and hit a few balls. We then went over to Pier 1 Imports (heeeeaven) in search of some of those reed sticks for aroma. We didn't find a flavor that we liked, but I checked out all the cute decor in hopes of one day being able to afford that stuff! After that we went to the Superstore so that I could find something to wear for my interview. I bought a dress and a skirt, and there is one more dress that wants my purchase (but I'll wait to see how the interview goes, and my maj may get it for me!). Anyways, I think I am going to wear the dress for the interview. We headed back to Victoria around 8:30, cleaned up Dale's place, and then Chels and Jord came over for some end of the year celebratory drinks. Chels and I had our usual pomegranate Crystal Light with diet 7-up, and we also made blackberry smoothies with Bailey's in it. Yum! Chels and I fell asleep in Dale's bed around 2:30, while our boys were up until 6:30 drinking. They finally pulled the mattresses from the bunk bed, and camped out in the living room. This morning we got up lazily and Chels and Jord drove me home around 12.

This afternoon, I finished up the short answer questions, and then Amy came over so we could prepare for the interview. We got a few links from my Dad for some helpful hints, and we brainstormed with our own minds too. I feel a bit more at ease about the questions, but nervous as hell for the interview! Bah. I spent the rest of the afternoon starting the essay question stuff, made a really early supper of tofu, asparagus, and yellow peppers, all grilled up in the pan with sweet chili sauce, and then fell asleep for a nap. I woke up around 8, worked more on questions and realized that my notebook was MIA. Well, I really needed my notebook for the essay questions ... I finally texted a classmate asking if they had my notebook, I guess that I had lent it to them on Thursday, and completely forgot. So, then I got my notebook back, worked more on essay questions, and then Dale and I went to see the late showing of "I Love You, Man". It was superrrr cute and funny, and had some of my favs starring in it!

Now, I am home, in bed, and hoping to get up early tomorrow to gym it, and study. It is supposed to be 16 degrees tomorrow! Eeks.

dried mango slices & bingo lottery tickets.

Today was the last day of classes. Wow. That semester was such a great semester, and I'm really going to miss taking a measly 3 classes a term.
The rain will just not go away. Fourth day of blah, cold, shit, rain, and I'm sick of it. I wore a pair of long wide-leg jeans today: worst day to wear them ... I had sopping ankles for the entire day... anyways, enough complaining!

Last night I received the questions for my interview. They are pretty hardcore questions, but I have started to prepare them. My interview is on Tuesday afternoon ... same day that I have a final. Greeeeeat ... prepping for two things in 4 days. Ah, oh well ... least I get them out of the way before Easter :) I need to find the perfect outfit to wear to the interview. Conservative, but trendy, not too flashy, a bit professional ... something that screams 'I am serious about this, but hip". I have a couple ideas ...

Tomorrow is the start of studying for polisci ... I started looking up some of the definitions today, but tomorrow I'll try to get all the short answer ones done. Our prof gave us the exact things that we need to know, so I am really grateful for that!! Also, gym tomorrow, and seeing Chels!

duet

APRIL FIRST. wow, already? It's hardly spring here. The weather is especially crap today. I need sunshine!

My boy April Fooled me today. Well he tried to at least ... telling little lies, but he sorta screwed up cause he just started telling preposterous white lies one after another, and I finally caught on. He started with: "I didn't go to class today because my prof was assassinated last night for drug trafficking". I mean, this sounds ridiculous, but I believed it. But then it just went on and on, and ended with Dale having HIV.

Anyways. Today ... gym during Dale's noon-hour hockey, and that is all I really have planned. Resume handing out later today, if all goes well. I should start studying for PoliSci (the exam is in 6 days!), but I am waiting to see if the prof gives us an outline tomorrow like he did with the midterm. Otherwise, I have NO idea what to study, and if it is the entire term or just past the midterm. gah.

Off to Vancouver in one week! :)
