birthday wishes

Happy birthday to my beautiful cousin Carli (as of October 28th)! My cousin Alli and her bf Keith are here this weekend. So, last night we all went out for dinner, then back to Carli and Jacey's place to drink, then off to Plan b. It was really fun! I love having my older cousins around (but we miss Deanna), it helps with my homesickness. Dale came out too, and got the stamp of approval from Alli (they have never met before!), so YAY for that haha.

Today I am surviving on five hours of sleep. It's a gorgeous day out again. However, Dale and I are heading up to campus to do some serious work on our History paper. We have to do a ton of research first (which gives me great anxiety), and then we can start to write it. It's due in like 8 days. YIKES. Hopefully later, we will have made some progress and can enjoy the sun or something!

13 days until I'm home.

color me wonderful.

Long time, no write. It's been quite some time since I've written a blog! This is my favorite time in Victoria. The sun is still shining, and warm, the leaves are beautiful bright reds and oranges, and everything just seems cozy.

Being back home for Thanksgiving was wonderful. It was a really short trip, but worth it. I spent most of my time with my family, and international sister, Kristina. She's charming. I got to see my besties on the Saturday night.. and that was amazing as always (I miss them terribly). My mom and dad cooked up a great big Thanksgiving feast for just the five of us. We had the Taylor's over for dessert and games... which I sort of didn't participate in... because the game, "Things"...well you would just have to see how bad I am! We spent the weekend shopping, visiting, touring Fort Steele, and taking walks. It was just what I needed. In fact, I miss it more than anything. I've been really homesick as of late, and can't wait to get home again for reading break. It's in two weeks. horray.

My Mom was here Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday evening. That really helped. She cooked for me and lex (and a couple other special ones), bought us so many groceries, and came up to campus with me. We also went downtown for a bit...I was in need of some new runners and shopping time with my momsie.

I finally had my last midterm from round one today. It was History...and I think I did poorly on the multiple choice (as usual), but the essay seemed to go alright... so I'm hoping that will boost my mark. Otherwise, I am doomed. Dale and I went to the gym after classes and did a ton of cardio and abs.

Now, I'm home.. working on my next project: my History paper. I'm writing it on Pearl Harbor...but I have to do a lot of investigating to find primary sources. Our prof doesn't want a research paper...but a real in depth look at how the media portrayed the event to the American and Canadian population.

I'm going through some personal stuff right now, which makes me miss home even more. Things were so much easier there.

i waited for you yesterday, to come back and say you'll always stay

I just finished reading most of my posts from wafflesnotjesus at livejournal. It really brings back old memories, and feelings.. and I'm also listening to songs from that time era. Memories are happy to think back upon, but too often I am stuck in the past...wishing things were exactly how they used to be...or always looking forward to the future. I need to live in the present more often than not.

I am going home on Friday! I am more than excited to see my besties. I have missed them so much. I can't wait until Chels is here in January!! My weekend just includes home-cooked meals, family time, bestie time, turkey dinns, and some drinking!

This week is killer: I have three midterms. I had a sociology one on Monday.. it went alright I think. On Thursday I have my math one... which I've been studying for a lot! I think I know most of what I am doing. Friday is psychology midterm.. which shouldn't be too bad either.

Tomorrow I have a hair appointment...then studying, then class, then more studying.

Dale and I went running today, up Mt. Tolmie. It was a pretty good run...but I want to work on increasing my distance or intensity.

loves.

tea time.

Wow, I haven't really written in awhile. Things are mainly the same. But, the school pace is picking up even more! This week I have three papers due, math assignment, history tutorial readings, annnnnd a sociology midterm to prepare for. Next week, I have three midterms.

This past weekend was pretty fun! Dale and I went to see a movie on friday: Miracle at St. Anna. It was pretty good! I bawled my eyes out for the last 15 minutes though. On Saturday, I spent the morning catching up on psychology articles, and cleaning the house a bit. Alexa was in Vancouver for the weekend, so I had the place to myself. I went for a run up Mt. Tolmie. Surprisingly, it only took me about 8 minutes from my place to the very top. So, it turned out to be a short run. In the afternoon I had oodles of visitors. Carli, Dea, Alli, Keith (Alli's bf), Auntie Cathie, and her friend all came over. I haven't seen my twin cousins since they left for Australia! So it's been basically a year! It was nice to have everyone in one room, and catch up!
After that, Alex came over for a visit, and then we ended up going downtown to meet her friend, Michael. We went to Michael's and cooked dinner: it was delicious. Afterwards, Alex, Michael, and Jason went to get alcohol, and bus back to my place. We drank a bit here, and then headed up to campus to Sierra's place in cluster. Her roommate was having a Rockstar Energy Drink party, so we all got free Rockstar! It was pretty fun. Dale came up to campus later with a taxi, and took us home.

On Sunday, I spent the day doing reading for History, and then went to Dale's for dinner. We made chili, it was good! Mhm!

Oh! And Alexa's mom was here from Thursday until Tuesday (she went with Alexa to Van for the weekend), so it was nice to have her around, and have some home-cooked meals! Yum!

Anyways, I'm home in nine days for Thanksgiving! I am terribly excited to see my family, friends, and eat turkey.
