may day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER BEAR, JAMMMMMER!

a stitch in time.

9 work days down, just two more small shifts to go. It hasn't been painful at all, besides my terrifying Sunday. Tonight I close, and tomorrow I work an afternoon shift! Then I have two lovely days off, and Dale is going to be here. He is picking me up from work tomorrow, and I am really excited to spend some time with him! I am just checking the weather now, and the weather looks fabulous with highs of 19-21 the entire time he is here. I am hoping to really jam pack my days off with sun and fun. hehe.

I am been hitting up the gym quite regularly these past two weeks. It feels good to workout in the morning, and feel as if I have that done and over with for the day (or that I accomplish something other than working!). Today I'm going to interval bounce at 10:15, and then I don't work til 5:45, so I've got a few errands (bank, birthday, bus tickets....money money money) to do beforehand.

Anyways, I'm off to gobble down some breaky before the gym.

but wouldn't it be beautiful?

love and other disasters.

That'd be the name of the movie I am watching tonight: starring a modern day Holly Golighty (and don't we all know, I just love that character and the lady who played her!!). Today was my seventh day in a row: first day opening and closing by myself with no management. It was scary to say the least, and frustrating, and annoying, and dull. Well, it was dull because it was a Sunday, and it was sunny out. We didn't get outta there til like 645, and I'm so nervous to hear about it tomorrow when I work at 1:00.

I work four more days in a row, and then Dale is coming to visit me for the weekend on Thursday! I am excited because I get off at 5:00 on Thursday and then get Friday and Saturday off. Thank the lord. I need a day off to re-group and refresh!!

One month until I am home again for James' grad festivities! hip hip horray for that.

there's a hole in your bucket.

Today was supposed to be my day off: turns out I'm working a little three hour shift from 2:30-5:30...I'm working 7 days in a row! 4 down, three to go. Another gorgeous day out in sunny Victoria. Sierra and I are going to hit up the beach for a bit before I have to work. I've already been outside in the sun today while I was waiting for the realtor to go through our condo. It's hot already!

As I have been practicing my signs more, Brian has been giving me homework, and I'm building up a dictionary of all the words I know, and how to sign them. Later I'll organize them into a dictionary hopefully.

Anyways, I'm off to enjoy the sunshinnne.

silver lining

You deserve to be adored.

because you're sooo cool

It's a gorgeous day out today! I was up early to go to the gym for the Chi Ball class...it was awesome...like tai chi, but with weights and strengthening, and a bit more fast paced. Then, back home to eat and do some much need cleaning. Now I am just practicing my homework for signing, and then I work at 430.

Yesterday, I received some beautiful flowers from Dale. I am so lucky!

Also, I worked til close yesterday and had to basically do everything on my own (still training though). I am slow, and we didn't get out of there til 9:25 (usually supposed to get outta there around 915 to save time). I chatted with Alli the entire wait for the bus, bus ride, and half an hour once I was home. We had so much to caught up on in terms of love and relationships.

I am off to get ready for worky.
enjoy the sun!

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN DALEY!

ten thousand nights of thunder.

I hardly blog anymore: what's going on?! Well, I have been so busy, and have had such a great/interesting/discovering/frustrating/tiring week. It's been a mix of new job terror and life thoughts. It's been a great week though. Work is going well, and I think I am getting the hang of it? I had an awesome May Long Weekend (two days off!): My friend Brian and I played tourists in our own towns. On Saturday we visited the wax museum and went to lunch at Floyd's (yummmy!), and then got the 5 o'clock ferry to the mainland. We visited the beach (gorgeous at sunset) while his mom cooked us up some yummies. Back for dinns, and then out for drinks with two of Brian's friends. Sunday: we went up to the Capilano Suspension Bridge (gah! my fear of heights), and toured around the area. It was great, and the sun was shining heavily. For the last bit of the afternoon, we went to the beach to have lunch...and then back to the island I went.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge.
GAh!
Brian is obviously completely at ease! ha

Now I am working 7 days in a row (and could be more, depending on the schedule)...but I need the hours! The shifts are pretty short (like 5 hours on average)...so it's not like I'm working overtime. But, since I am new and learning and enjoy it...it's a pretty good deal.

Tomorrow I'm going to hit up the gym for the 10:15 class, then go to Thrifty's to get more bus tickets, then I have some sign homework, then I've got a bank meeting at 3:00 (which is supposed to take an hour, but I doubt it! LAME!), then work at 5:00!

how are we going to build a castle now?

Happy Friday! Today is my third shift at Aldo Accessories. On Wednesday I closed with the assistant manager, yesterday I learned all the opening stuff with the manager, and tonight I am learning how to officially close with the manager. It's going well so far. It's so different than DQ, and like any other new job, it's hard to figure out what to do and when. There are new rules to obey, and a lot to memorize. It's also a bit competitive, for this thing called Club Elite, and you have a budget that you have to hit, and 30% of your sales have to be purses/clutches. Yikes!

Anyways, tomorrow is the long weekend. I can't believe it is here already. Bring on the sun and fun!

to take on l o v e

bees, if you please.

I am home in Cranbrook. It is wonderful. I arrived on Thursday night, and ate a dinner of salmon, salad, asparagus, and brown rice with my parents. Afterwards, Tash came over to get ready for birthday celebrations. Nicole joined us for some pre-birthday drinks, and then we headed down to the Baker. There were some other boys and girls that joined us, and it was super fun. We spent the night drinking, dancing, and singing karaoke. Friday morning was not a pleasant one because I had to be up at 7 (probably still drunk) for a dentist appointment at 730. I was a mess. After that, I came home and slept for a few more hours before packing up to head to Spokane! We were off to the States for my Dad's grad. It was a great weekend spent with the family for celebrating the master's and mother's day. Forever 21 opened up too, so I had a hay day in there (we went twice), and I ran into Tash on Sunday in there too!

We got back last night around 7, and I spent the evening unpacking, and watching the brothers and sisters finale. Then, Dale and I went to rent Slumdog Millionaire. It was SO good! I can't believe I waited so long to see it!

Today: woke up, walked over to the Prestige to get my hairs snipped, then had lunch with Jamesy and Maj at Hot Shots, went to see my Dad quickly, visited the DQ staff, and now I am home for a quick bit. I have to drive my brother to work experience at 2, then I'll check out the Superstore. After James is done, we have to pick up my faj, and go get a paint sample and the glass to fill in the cabinets for overtop the stove.

I'll post some piccys tomorrow once I am back in Victoria!

Lots of loves.

i thought april showers bring may flowers.

Rain again today. This week has been full of it. Yuck!

This week is a full week of birthdays: Brent, Audrey Hepburn, Steph, Nicole, and Dianna! Tomorrow night we are going out to celebrate the week of birthdays for my three highschool friends. I am tres excited! I have been looking forward to this for weeks now!

Yesterday I walked down to Mayfair Mall. It actually does not take that much time at all! I found a good route that takes about 40 minutes. Except, it started to pour rain on me sooo that slowed me down a bit with my umbrella in tow, plus texting the entire way. Anyways, I had to pick up some sparkles from le mall, and I tried on a few t-shirts that I wanted to purchase in the states. They are from the Gap and they are the perfect plain tee that has the longer sleeves, and falls a bit lower on the hips. Plus, the are super comfy and only $19.50. I want one in every color! Anyways, it was still raining when I left, but I found my way home (except for missing Pear St. and going a bit further than I wanted to) okay. Chels came over for a little visit, and then I spent a couple hours being taught more signs from Brian. Yesterday was day 3, I think I am improving a bit?

Today: I need to clean my bathroom, pack, go to the gym, and possibly go downtown to look at a little Mother's day pressie!

rain, rain go away.
looooves.

the girl you lost to cocaine.

Today has been a day of good news.

1. I called my manager at Aldo Accessories to figure out if she had reached my references yet. She said that she talked to Trev, and he had nothing but great things to say. I was very pleased. She said she has to talk to her GM to see if it would be beneficial for me to start training this week, or if I should just wait until I get back next week. YAY.

2. I got an email from the education faculty offering me conditional acceptance into the Education program for Elementary teaching! I just have to wait to get my Geog mark back, and as long as it's higher than a B-, then I'm good to go! Hallelujah!

Things are feeling better, and looking up.
looove.

may day

Weekends end. I have had a jam-packed, busy weekend with my parents! They arrived Thursday night and we ate sushi for dinns while we watched Survivor (yes, my parents still keep up with that series). Friday, we headed over to the place to meet our realtor, and get the keys! The place had been cleaned (thank the lord) because the previous owner had hired professional cleaners. However, we still needed to clean the walls, the windows, bleach EVERYTHING, sweep, vacuum, remove the wallpaper in the bathroom, and put down plastic to get ready for painting in July. So all day Friday was cleaning day, and we finally wrapped it up around 7, got Thai takeout, and rested back at Richmond Gate. Saturday: cleaned a bit more, my parents friend arrived, and so did my aunt and uncle. The girls left to go shopping (pick out paint samples, Superstore, and Home Sense), while the boys stayed to strip wall paper and dust. After all that shopping I was tuckered, but we headed to a friends to drink wine and ordered pizza in. I left with my aunt and uncle, they dropped me off and I had some alone time to shower and catch up on messages. Today was mostly a day for shopping. But, before that, my maj and I tried out 3 paints that we picked out (living/dining room, kitchen cabinets, kitchen walls). Then, my mom, her friend, and I went to Mayfair to peek a bit through the stores. I managed to find a super cute top and pair of sandals from the Gap (on sale, of course!). So, I am happy with my new purchases. After that we headed back to get my faj, and my parents had to pack up quickly before leaving for their flight home!

It was such a great weekend! I enjoyed every minute of it with my parents. I can't wait until Thursday! Home to Cranbrook for friends time, and more family time for my dad's grad :)

love to all.
