things

The Hills starts again soon. hip hip.

I have spent the day writing, cleaning, and sitting. I am tres bored, and class doesn't start for another two hours.

My Dad is coming to visit me in about 3 weeks, and hopefully (fingers crosses*) in 4 weeks, Dale will be coming up to visit!
I am excited for the end of March, because things will be ending, and exams starting... and soon..I'll be out of res with summer to look forward to!

I have been frustrated lately though, because going back to Cranbrook seems awfully depressing (besides seeing Dale and my family more, and living at home). To me, Cranbrook has no options or opportunities. There is no where that I want to employ myself at, and nothing exciting to do on my time off. I plan on spending much of my time out at Dale's cabin, getting a tan, star gazing, and making bbq's. I want to spend time with good people, and good people only. I decided I will surround myself with good influences and people that make me happy. I want to take some mini road trips and do some sight seeing. I would love to go somewhere hot with the boy, and go visit my dear friend Alex in Kelowna. Dale and I also want to go to a concert, we were thinking Snow Patrol or The Fray; something intimate and cozy. Things that make me happy are often found outside of Cranbrook.

Enough with the boring stuff,
I hope to find myself some adventures soon...
write more then.

vegas, baby.

I just got back from an amazing time in Vegas, babbbbby. Dale and I left Wednesday afternoon and drove to Eugene. I was still feeling quite sick, so I slept most of the way. Once we got to the airport, we checked in and headed up to our gate. We first flew to Los Angeles. Since our plane was a bit late getting in, we had to basically run to our next gate. When we got to our gate, they told us they had switched gates... we missed our flight to Las Vegas. So we had to go all the way back to Delta ticketing and get them to trade in our tickets for a later flight. We caught the last flight to Vegas that night. We ended up getting in around 1030, and then took a taxi to our hotel, the Bellagio. We met up with Dale's parents in the lobby, quickly went up to our room to drop off our luggage, and then headed down to one of the many restaurants in the hotel. I was still not in the eating mood, so Dale had a bite to eat, and then called it a night around 12.

The next morning, I slept in while Dale was at an appointment. He got back around 11, then we got ready, and met up with his parents for lunch. We ate at the hotel buffet. Now, this isn't just any buffet: it's huge, and has everything you could ever want to eat there. I could only nibble on some salad and turkey though cause my stomach was still achy. After lunch, we headed out for some serious sight seeing. We first stopped in at Caesar's palace to walk through and look at the Forum Shops. They have everything. We also watched a little show in the central area from the old Roman times. Then, we headed back out onto the strip to go pick up our tickets for the Phantom of the Opera. After that, we kept walking, and went over to the Wynn hotel for a bite to eat. We taxied back to Caesar's Palace and then walked back to the hotel (they are right next to each other basically). Then, we got ready for the Phantom. It was an amazing show. One of the best I've seen. I have always wanted to see that, so it was my dream come true. I was so thrilled. After the show, we went to Joe's restaurant in Caesar's Palace. They specialize in steak (apparently the best in the city). Dale and his dad had steak, while his mom and I had chicken. It was delish. Afterwards we went back to the hotel, and walked around the casino for a bit. Then, it was bed time.

The next morning, I got to sleep in again because Dale was at another appointment. I eventually got out of the most comfortable bed, and went to get ready. While I was blow drying my hair, I was cautious to watch in the mirror cause I knew Dale would try to sneak up on me when he got back. But, then he texted me saying he'd be another 2 hours...what a joke. Anyways, he crept in and still managed to take 10 years off my life. Jesus. That day, Dale and I went over to MGM to see lions. He told me they would be the big ones with the manes. But it was two females, and they were sleeping. Still, it was exciting. We then went over to New York, New York to look around there, and have a bite to eat. Afterwards we took the monorail over to the mall to do some shopping. We ended up getting off at a few stops early, so we did some more picture taking and sight seeing at the Venetian (Italy-like). We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping, and then went back to the hotel to get ready for Danny Gans. His show was over at the Mirage hotel. He was amazing. He impersonated all these singers from the 1940's until the present. He was bang-on with most of them. I was super impressed; it was a great show. Afterwards, we went over to Caesar's Palace to look for a place to eat. We chose a chinese type place that is one of Wolfgang Puck's restaurants. I had lettuce wraps, wonton soup, and tofu. It was all delicious! Then we went back to our casino in the Bellagio, and we played the slots for a bit .. Dale was ahead a bit, and then gambled it all away. We also went outside and took lots of pretty pictures of 'Paris' and our hotel. That night, Dale and I drank some red wine, and then headed to bed around 3.

Dale's parents left early Saturday morning. So, we were on our own to explore! We went over to Mandalay Bay where we were going to look at the shark reef, but we didn't want to pay to see them, so we just walked around and went to the Luxor hotel to see all the Egyptian sights. We walked back towards our hotel and went to another mall just across the street from the Bellagio. I went to Urban Outfitters, and then we walked around a bit more. Then, exhausted we made our way back to the hotel and got ourselves some gelato from this amazing place inside. We made reservations for Joe's (again! soo good) for 930.. and had a nice break and nap in our bed. Around 8, we walked down the strip to go see the Pirate Show at Treasure Island. We got there, and it was packed! So, we only stayed for a few minutes, because we couldn't really see anything, and it was mostly just girls dancing around and singing. Dale said when he was little it was way better cause it was all Pirates and action. We then started to walk back, took a few more pictures, and then headed to dinner. Dinner was fabulous again, but I had a headache and the only thing I had in my purse was NyQuil. Well I took it, and soon enough my headache was gone, but I was so drowsy and I was about to fall asleep right there in Joe's. So we went back to the hotel, and rested. We headed to bed pretty early, because we had a early start on Sunday.

We left the hotel around 930 on Sunday morning. Dale and I were lucky enough that we got a flight back to Portland together. Then once in Portland, we had to part ways because I had to go get my other tickets through another airline. Dale went to his gate for his plane to Eugene. I got my tickets, had to go through security again (and this time I had to do all this dumb stuff cause I was selected for special screening.), but then I checked my gate, and it was the same as Dale's! So we got to spend another 45 minutes together. I was so happy. He left around 345, and my flight wasnt for another hour. I was sad to see him go, ugh, we are always doing the goodbye thing. It really sucks. I had two more flights home, and had to do security again, for a total of 3 times in one day, plus customs! I made it back to Victoria around 730, met up with Alex, and then Sierra picked us up. I got home around 830.. and was so exhausted. I had my usual sad time without having my boy around, unpacked, and loaded all my pictures.

Now, I am back to classes and school. yuck. This is going to be a busy week for me, and weekend, cause I have an exam and essay next Monday. Bleh. I can't wait until April!

Viva Las Vegas,
cheers.

bugs

I have the flu, so my boy has been taking care of me for the past 24 hours.
I hope to be in full recovery by tomorrow, because we are leaving to Vegas!

Last night, my love took me out to dinner for this fabulous dinner at an Italian restaurant. It was super beautiful inside, but I was only wearing one contact (I lost the other), so everything was a bit blurry.

Tonight, we are just hanging out because I feel extremely weak, achy, and dehydrated. Dale sitting by my side, playing video games. I am catching up on all my facebooking, pictures, and blogs.

birthday sweetness

Wow, these past 5 days or so have been a whirlwind of happy happy things. I have had the greatest times. Since I've had so many adventures... I am going to just list the great things in point form to save my hands from cramping through all the details.

-got into Vancouver around 4:30
-then me, my gramma, and grampa drove out to the south terminal to get my maj
-my aunt had a big birthday dinner for me including spaghetti, lasagna, red wine, and two cakes!

Saturday, February 16th
-my ladies surprised me!
-we spent the day shopping
-went to Joey's for dinner
-chels got sick
-tash, nicole, and I went to ginger 62 and danced the night away

Sunday, February 17th
-got up and went for brunch at the alibi room with the girls, my mom, and some of her friends
-went to do more shopping
-left the girls and my mom and flew off to portland
-arrived in portland, my boyfriend met me with flowers and we drove back to corvallis.
-getting back into his room, it was filled with valentine's balloons, signs, candy, and red wine.

I feel so luck to have such great people in my life.

today's things

Today was a rather eventful day for me. I woke early with a huge headache, and for some reason thought I was getting the flu. It must have been some sort of love connection, because my boy last night had a bit of the flu with some late night sickness. I didn't find out until this morning, so my headache must have been telling me something.

I studied hard until I had to get ready to go to Aveda to get my hair done. I had a hoot there... I had the nicest/sweetest young lady working on my hair. I managed to get 4 inches chopped, full bangs, and a much nicer/darker color to get rid of those icky highlights. I am not used to this shortness, and uncertain whether or not I like it. I think I'm just being picky.

After my haircut, I went to the clinic for a little pick-up, then headed back to campus. I ended up taking another bus down to starbucks to get some steamed milk for my cold hands, and a subway sandwich for my dinner. I was going to take the bus home, but it wasn't arriving for 22 more minutes, and I can make it back faster than those pesky buses, so I walked. I got to talk to my boy on the way home (he kept me company; my mom was too busy).. so I came home and ate my sub and watched Life of Ryan. It was good.

Now I am just busy studying, and going to watch One Tree Hill actually!

I have to go, it's starting NOW

one week

As this weekend ends, and the beginning of the week approaches.. I am just so excited!

I had a really low-key weekend... on Friday afternoon, Carli and I went to Mayfair Mall, and the Bay Centre. I was in search for some special 'underpinnings' (as Lauren stated) for when I go to see the boyfriend. We also ate dinner in the food court, and then went for coffee at Starbucks before heading home. Then we came back to res to get Carli's books, and I went off to Alex's for a quick visit and to find something to wear for my birthday dinner. I found two things which I have hanging up in my closet until I decide... one is a top, and one is a dress that I would pair with tights.

Saturday, I also had a low-key day. I studied, and went for a run. Sierra and I went to Alex's for dinner, and we made spaghetti. It was deliiish. And we made it an early night, so I came home to talk to my boy. I also watched A Lot Like Love. It's one of my most favorite movies.

Today I studied even more, had a long nap, and went to get groceries, and then walked home.

Tomorrow, I have 4 classes, and it's sort of a boring day.

Tuesday I get my hairs cut and colored. hip hip.

This time next week, I'll be with Dale! yaaay.

it's written in the stars it seems

Tomorrow is the Chinese New Year.
Tonight, I learned about Chinese Valentine's Day in astronomy. It's on June 7th... and it seems to have some sort of myth about the constellations behind it...

The story goes...
This cow herder and a princess meet each other for the first time, and instantly fall in love. The princess' mother forbids them to see each other.. and separates them with a river: the cow herder on one side, and the princess on the other. But as true love goes, they find a way to cross the river and be together at last!
The end.

I don't know how Valentine's Day is really linked to that, or why it is in June.. But I thought it was a nice coincidence with the New Year being tomorrow.

Night.

say it

Another Sunday: today I woke up around 10, went for a run, ate some breaky and then had a shower. Around 1, I went over to library and got a ton of Nutrition reading done. Then, I met up with Hannah to check over our math homework. I have a few more I need to finish that I didn't do right.

After finishing up math, I took the bus down to Safeway to pick up some fresh veggies and fruit. Then I ended up walking home because I had brought my backpack, and also, by the time the bus would come back, I would be back on campus.

Now, I am just watching Rev Run's house... and will probably finish up some homework later tonight.

It is official: two weeks until me and my boy meet up again.

you know how it goes.

I was feeling like a bit of e.e. cummings tonight... so here are some of my most favorites. Enjoy.

You Being in Love

you being in love

will tell who softly asks in love,

am i separated from your body smile brain hands merely
to become the jumping puppets of a dream? oh i mean:
entirely having in my careful how
careful arms created this at length
inexcusable, this inexplicable pleasure--you go from several
persons: believe me that strangers arrive
when i have kissed you into a memory
slowly, oh seriously
--that since and if you disappear

solemnly
myselves
ask "life, the question how do i drink dream smile

and how do i prefer this face to another and
why do i weep eat sleep--what does the whole intend"
they wonder. oh and they cry "to be, being, that i am alive
this absurd fraction in its lowest terms
with everything cancelled
but shadows
--what does it all come down to? love? love
if you like and i like, for the reason that i
hate people and lean out of this window is love, love
and the reason that i laugh and breathe is oh love and the reason
that i do not fall into this street is love."

Love is a Place

love is a place

all places

yes is a world
& in this world of
yes live

all worlds

Lily Has a Rose
lily has a rose
(i have none)
"don't cry dear violet
you may take mine"

"o how how how
could i ever wear it now
when the boy who gave it to
you is the tallest of the boys"

"he'll give me another
if i let him kiss me twice
but my lover has a brother
who is good and kind to all"

"o no no no
let the roses come and go
for kindness and goodness do
not make a fellow tall"

lily has a rose
no rose i've
and losing's less than winning(but
love is more than love)

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

somewhere i have never travelled
somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skillfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the colour of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what is is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

in the mood

We sleep

We sleep entangled, like children,
unwatched. No angels stand over us.
You wear my sweater; I, your scent;
we don blank, silent masks and step
sideways into dreams.
I wake to your breath, as even as
tide. Your lips part in dumb absence;
white eyelids shift. I ease back and down
into the mattress, enshroud us, press into
your warmth.
Outside, winter wind and moonlight
fade trees and the street. My legs twist around
yours; foreheads brush; our hands meet.
Your skin warms me; you breathe my breath—
our hearts, beating.

saturday night

I just finished watching the notebook. It's the third time I've seen it.. and well.. it still gets me every time. I bawled my eyes out, and just as it was ending, Dale called.. second night in a row that he has had to calm me down. haha.

"I'll be seeing you."

It's time for a love revolution.

watch your tense and case

oh baby
i want to be your direct object.
you know, that is to say
i want to be on the other
side of all the verbs i know

i've seen you conjugate:
i touch

i'm interested in
a few decent prepositions:
above, over, inside, atop,
below, around and
i'm sure there are more
right on the tip of
your tongue.

i am ready to spend
the present perfect
splitting your infinitive
there's an art to the way you
dangle your participle and
since we're being informal it's okay to
use a few contractions, like
wasn't (going to)
shouldn't (have)
and a conjunction:
but (did it anyway)

and i'm really really glad
you're not into dependent
clauses since all i'm really
interested in is your
bad, bad grammar
and your exclamation point.

february begins.

Hello, February. I am so glad that February has finally arrived! Gosh, I am excited.
This morning Alex, Sierra, and I went out for brunch at this place called Floyd's Diner. It was deliiish. It's the perfect remedy for hang overs. I had egg's benedict. yum.

Now, I am just sitting in my room... I have finished my math homework, and I am waiting on my mom and dad to call me back about my English assignment (I am in need of some parental help).

Later today, I think that I am going to do some crafting... and probably take it easy. I had an interesting night last night.. so I feel a little bit drained. I am really looking forward to doing some blogging, and journaling. But first, I really want to finish my homework.

Tomorrow, I hope to finish up odd's and end's, clean, and probably go for a run. Then it's Monday, and I get to say 'Next week ... (insert good things)'. Hehe. I am happy!

Anyways, in a few weeks I have to write an essay for English to sum up our poetry experience. We have to do a comparison of poems, so lovely Lauren sent me some gooders.. and I will probably post them later.

cheers.
happy saturday.
