pretty, please.

June is over. I find it overwhelming that I have already spent more than two months at home, and that I have less than two months to go. On the bright side, summer has finally started, and we are finally experiencing some hot weather.

As usual, work is work. There are good days and bad ones. At the beginning of last week, I was in a foul mood for the most part. However, my last three shifts of the week were all positive and I really enjoyed the people I was working with. However, we have no air conditioning behind the counter, and I find the heat irritating, and makes my mood alter. When you are standing doing drive-thru at that window in the blazing sun, right next to the grill, there is no way to escape the heat. We have one tiny fan that is more annoying than anything, and wearing black uniforms sure doesn't help. I wish we could wear bermuda shorts or SOMETHING, because one day I will melt and be gone.

Besides work, I have been spending majority of my time with my boy. We are finally able to have a normal relationship and are done with long distance. Am I ever grateful for that. Dale and I spent the afternoon at the lake yesterday and soaked up many rays. Dale is a bit sunburnt on his back (despite my efforts to apply sunscreen to it!!), and I'm a bit blotchy. BUT! we now have glows. Yesterday evening was a neighborhood bbq at the Aleem's. I had quite the good time minus my continuing melting.

Dale and I spent the night at the lake, and then this morning we had a late brunch then heading back into town. I cleaned in the afternoon, and had a bit of a visit with Chels. Then, I came home to figure out my schedule for next year. The classes and times are so limited that it made me extremely frustrated (and I usually LOVE making my schedule!!). Then, I went over for a quick hello to Lauren. They are moving tomorrow, so both Lauren and Sharon were busy cleaning the house.

I am hoping to make it to the movies with Dale, but he is golfing right now.. so I'm not sure when he'll be done his game.

Tomorrow I work at 11 (as usual), but before then, I am going to help the Malone's pack up their things.

june bugs

Wow, June is really flying. I don't even know where it has gone! I guess we have been waiting so long for nice weather, that we never really noticed the calendar moving forward. This past weekend was really fun. Well, Saturday was fun. I started my day out with a morning run with my mom. We ran down to Parkland and then all through the Elizabeth Lake trails. It was nice. Then, I went for lunch with Nicole to Hot Shots. We sat out in the blazing sun and caught up on each other's lives. It was nice. My parents ended up eating there too, so after Nicole left, I sat with them for a bit. Dale and I decided to hit up the lake because of the heat, but as soon as we got there the sun hid behind the clouds. So we sat outside for a bit, then watched tv inside for awhile. Saturday night: I had people over to my house for pre-drinking before the beer gardens. It was really fun (I'd say more fun than the actual beer gardens ha.) I had all people I adored over, and we drank vodka and coronas. We all headed down around 1130... but almost instantly all got separated. I was always looking for someone or on my phone texting or calling to meet up. After a couple hours of doing this, Dale and I decided to leave. We walked home, and it was actually quite nice because of the warm weather. We made it home safe, and then lay on my lawn for a bit before Dale went home. The next morning I worked at 11...which was okay because I wasn't hung over, and we still got to dress up for Sam Steele Days. My Dad made me waffles in the morning, which was also nice.

On Monday, I only had to work a 12-4 shift. It went by so incredibly fast. Before work I also managed to get a lot of cleaning done. And after work, my Mom and I went running. That night I just hung out with Dale and we watched Fight Club. It was pretty good, but confusing (I thought)!

Today (Tuesday), I was supposed to work an 11-C shift. I ended up being picked up by my Mama at 730. I had a stomach ache this morning.. but as the day progressed it got worse and worse to where I couldn't really stand. So now I am at home drugged up, with some aromatherapy stuff on my belly, and a hot water bottle on my back. I am laying in bed and enjoying a quiet evening with the Gilmores. I am hoping to feel better in a bit to hang out with Dale...but we'll see how I am feeling.

Tomorrow, I have the day off. I have a Dentist appointment at 10 (YUCK), meeting at DQ at 2, Step class at 515, then a girls night for Lauren's farewell.

More stories later.

Today was a great day, as are most of my days off. I met up with Lauren to plan our little girly night for her going away party. Then, I hung out with Chels. We sat in Hotshots for a good few hours and caught up on everything. I have not seen that girl in ages.

I am looking forward to the following week. I have lots of events and such to attend. And besides that, my date with Dale tonight. We're going to the show and seeing The Hulk. A definite boyish movie... but all the same, I am still excited. hehe.

goodies

Last night my Mom, Lex, and Ginny arrived home from Victoria. I was working so they stopped into DQ and Lex showed me pictures of our new place. Wow, it's even more incredible than the website pictures. I am so excited to start buying things to fill the space, and of course to move in. I will probably go down to Victoria to move in all my stuff around the beginning of August. That way, Lex and I can get settled in together. Then, I'll come back home for a few weeks before returning for school.
My Mom also brought home a present for me from my Uncle. It's a complete collection of e.e. cummings poems from 1904-1962. I was so excited that I told my Mom I was going to devour it instantly. I brought it out to the lake with me last night, and got a chance to read some poems this afternoon in the sun.
Dale and I headed out to his place after I got off work. We made a fire (which took two or three tries to finally get it to go), make chicken wings, and ate s'mores. We slept over, and woke up late this morning. I threw together some fruit and yogurt for our breaky. Dale watched golf inside while I started to soak up some rays and look up classes I want to take in September. Dale decided he was still starving, so he drove back into town to grab us some lunch. I stayed out on the dock and tanned. We stayed out at the lake until around 430, and then came back into town.
We had our Father's Day Dinner tonight. It was delicious. We had salmon, potatoes, grilled veggies, and shrimp.
Also, I received 4 out of 5 of my items I purchased online a couple weeks ago. I am very excited to have some new clothing. I am hoping the fifth item arrives tomorrow!
I work all day tomorrow, and then have Wednesday off. I am already getting tired of working. It's just that it's the same thing over and over each day. Everyday is exactly the same as the last and it's quite a bore at times. Don't get me wrong, I do love working there...but I guess now that summer is kicking in, I'd rather just be outside all the time.
Tonight I mostly just hung out around home, but then Dale and I went to K.O. to play frisbee. Any skills that I acquired while he was here a few weeks ago are now gone. It's as if I had not played frisbee in years! haha.

Anyways, Gilmore Girls is calling me.

The sun is shining finally, hopefully it decides to stay out all day. Dale and I are supposed to head out to his cabin this afternoon to soak up some sun, relax, and cook dinner out there. As of yesterday night, Lexa and I are officially living in a beautiful condo. If you google Richmond Gate, then click, well .. there is our place! It's a great location (really close to UVIC, bus stops, and grocery stores), and the price is not bad for what we are getting. We're both really really excited because its brand new, never been lived in, and has everything we wanted! Hip Hip. Now, I just need to save all my moneys.

Anyways, I'm off to bask in the sun.
cheers.

lovers electric

Today could quite possibly be the greatest day:
1. I got to hang out with Lauren
2. My boy is coming home tonight!
3. Lex, my mom and her mom, found the most gorgeous place for us to live in.

I am a lucky girl to have great friendships, an awesome boyfriend, and now a wonderful place to live for the next year.

Minus the sun, and how I am quite the poor girl (even though pay day was yesterday!), I am quite stoked for the summer to finally begin.

I wore my new heels downtown today while doing errands. It was fun, except for the three times I got the key stuck in the ignition, and my brother had to bail me out all 3 times. Tonight I am headed to Lyssa's grad party for a quick visit, and then home to my boy. We have a quiet night planned of movie watching in bed.

Plus, I have the next day and a half off. It shall be good.

rants.

Don't even get me started.

Jun 7, 2008

a rainy saturday.

Dale comes home for good (for summer) this Friday. I am so so so so excited. I am also excited because things will start to look up from this weekend on. I have plans to go to Lyssa's grad party on Friday evening, then to the movies with Dale afterwards. We're hoping on Friday that it'll be warm and sunshine-y to head out to the lake for some time on the dock and a possible bbq. The weekend following this upcoming one is Sam Steele's Days. It shall be fun (and hopefully HOT) going to the beer gardens and having some time off.

Summer hasn't arrived yet. I have barely said hello to the sun before it disappears on me. I feel like I am in Victoria again. And I can't believe we're a week into June already! I have been home for what seems like ages, and it really has been: like a month and a half.

Other announcements are that Lex and I have found a very possible place for us to live. We've had our share of finding beautiful places that are either gone right away, too expensive, or in a bad location. But this one seems to be perfect. While it's not our ideal/dream place, it will suffice just perfectly. Fingers crossed that we get it. Her mom emailed the contact people today, so hopefully we'll hear from them tomorrow or so.

I work for the next three days, all 11-C shifts.. but hopefully it'll help pass the time while I wait for my boyfriend to return.

Off to bed,
xx

june starts.

I fell in love again: with Sex and the City...the movie. I went to see it with Chels, Tash, and Lauren last night. It was absolutely amazing. Everyone kept telling me how it was full of emotions, and well it sure was. There were definitely moments (of happiness and sadness) when I shed a few tears. As soon as I got home, my Mom and I discussed it and decided that we wanted to buy it as soon as it's out on DVD. The friendships, relationships, and love that the movie contains is unreal.

Anyways, besides the movie... well I have just been working and working out to pass the time until Dale arrives home in a week and a half. On the weekend, Nicole had her grad ceremony which Tash and I attended. Then we went to her house after for drinks and food with a bunch of her family's closest friends and relatives. It was really fun. Tash, Chels, Jord, and I ended up going out to Misty's around 12. It was pretty fun too! I always love dancing around...even if it has to be at Misty's.

Tomorrow I have the day off again. I have to do a bunch of things, but then Tash is coming over in the afternoon for london fogs. Oh! and yesterday, my Mom and I went running for 50 minutes! It felt so good to run again (I haven't been in 2 weeks), however this morning I woke up to a pulled groin which was a pain during work today. Tomorrow night I'm going to step class.. and I haven't been to that one either in 2 weeks, so I'm really excited for another good work out!

Anyways, I'm off to watch Gilmore Girls and then call my boy.
